8 hours of training on the following topics:

 

• The home buying process
• How to know what you can afford to buy
• Budgeting for your home purchase
• What to do about credit issues you might have
• Information that lenders look at
• How to get the best loan
• How to avoid predatory lenders
• Working with a realtor
• How to negotiate the sales price
• Title, escrow and the closing process
• Homeowner's insurance
• Home inspections
• Home maintenance tips

This class meets the requirements for the City of Tempe Community Assisted Mortgage Program (CAMP), Newtown's Individual Development Account (IDA) program and Newtown's Community Land Trust program.

Refreshments and lunch are provided.
